Accreditation team invites public comments about the Tampa International Airport Police Department
As part of an accreditation process, a team of assessors from the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation (CFA) will be examining all aspects of the Tampa International Airport Police Department's policies and procedures, management, operations, and support services on Aug. 22-24, 2023. Tampa International Airport Police Department must comply with approximately 240 security, safety and health standards in order to receive accredited status.
As part of the assessment, agency members and the general public are invited to offer comments to the assessment team. For more information regarding CFA or for persons wishing to offer written comments about the Tampa International Airport Police Department's ability to meet the standards of accreditation, please write:
CFA, P.O. Box 1489, Tallahassee, Florida 32302, or email to info@flaccreditation.org.
The Accreditation Program Manager for the Tampa International Airport Police Department is Jennifer Jacques and the assessment team is composed of law enforcement practitioners from similar agencies.
The CFA Assessment Team Leader is Unit Manager Gary Robinson of the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. Other team members are Lieutenant Henry Cabrera of the Coconut Creek Police Department and Sergeant Alicia Menendez of the Groveland Police Department.
Once the Commission's assessors complete their review of the agency, they report back to the full Commission, which will then decide if the agency is to receive accredited status, which lasts for three years. Verification by the team that Tampa International Airport Police Department meets the Commission's standards is part of a voluntary process to gain or maintain accreditation – a highly prized recognition of law enforcement professional excellence.
