Written by: Emily Nipps

TPA’s Airside C restroom renovations are paying off as the spacious, new loos are now a finalist in the 2022 America’s Best Restroom contest.

Cintas Corporation, which hosts the contest, chose ten public restroom finalists based on cleanliness, visual appeal, innovation, functionality andTPA-ASC-Restrooms-Beck-11 unique design elements. Other finalists include the Headlands Lodge and Spa in Oregon and the Delaware Botanic Gardens. It's not the first time TPA has been a finalist in the contest. In 2013, it was named among Cintas' top nominees for the Main Terminal's renovations to 20 restrooms.

TPA's new Airside C restrooms were thoughtfully designed, including wide walkways and extra deep stalls that allow travelers plenty of space to maneuver their luggage. Travelers using this space will notice the uniquely-Floridian décor with large graphics and deep blue stone that reflect the scenery TPA-ASC-Restrooms-Beck-3found around Tampa Bay.

The clean, contemporary aesthetic includes light-colored solid surface vanities, incorporating TPA’s signature “cockpit” concept. This “cockpit” provide guests with their own sensor-activated faucet and soap, personal paper towel dispenser and trash receptacles – all within an arm’s reach.

In addition, an adjacent dedicated nursing room and family restrooms provide privacy and comfort to families on the go. Airside C's north restrooms have been under construction for several months and recently opened to the public. The south restrooms are still being renovated and will be open before Thanksgiving this year.

The finalist receiving the most votes will be crowned America’s Best Restroom. Voting is now open and available through August 31. Multiple votes each day are allowed. To vote for TPA to win, CLICK HERE, select “Vote Now" and choose Tampa International Airport.
