Aviation Authority welcomes County Commissioner Stacy White to its Board of Directors

Tampa International Airport and the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority welcomed Hillsborough County Commissioner Stacy White as its newest member of the HCAA Board of Directors.

White was introduced at his first HCAA Board meeting on Thursday, Dec. 3, and he will fill the role of Assistant Secretary/Assistant Treasurer which was previously held by Commissioner Les Miller, who left office due to term limits.

Serving as the Board Chaplain to the Board of County Commissioners for the past three terms, White also fulfills duties on various boards and organizations, including the Agency on Bay Management, the Hillsborough River Interlocal Planning Board, the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) as an Alternate and the Tampa Bay Estuary Program Policy Board.

From 2010 to 2014, White served on the Hillsborough County School Board, and in 2016 he was elected as the Chairman to the Board of County Commissioners.

Stacy White is a fifth generation native of Hillsborough County who lives in Valrico with his wife of 23 years and their three children. After graduating from East Bay High School, he earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida and has practiced pharmacy more than 20 years. In addition to being a practicing pharmacist, he serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pharmacy with the University of Florida, where he educates pharmacy students during their internships. In 2006, the university recognized his outstanding work in this capacity by naming him Roche Preceptor of the Year in an Outpatient Setting.

Stacy and his family attend New Hope United Methodist Church in Brandon. He and his wife stay busy with their high school and college-aged children as well as a host of community activities. In their free time, Stacy and his family enjoy boating, fishing, and Florida Gators athletics.
