Community Noise Alert – Runway Closure

TAMPA – On Monday, April 11th and Tuesday, April 12th the west parallel runway at Tampa International Airport will be closed due to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Inspection Team evaluation and inspection of all their instrument navigational equipment. 

On the above closure days, all jet traffic will be using the east parallel runway (Runways 1R/19L). Residential communities to the immediate north and south of the Airport may notice an increase in noise between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. 

As always, the Aviation Authority is committed to being a good neighbor and encourages residents impacted by runway closures to join the Community Noise Consortium to stay informed and offer feedback and suggestions on future runway closure projects.
