Extra, extra: SkyCenter One starts the climb

SkyCenter One is going vertical as work on the nine-story office building is really starting to move along quickly.

In recent weeks, crews with contractor J.E. Dunn have begun pouring concrete shear walls for the building’s two stairwells and elevators. Those are expected to be topped out later this spring.

As this work takes place, other workers have been busy placing foundations for the building and the adjacent parking garage. The parking garage’s foundations are now complete.

In the coming weeks, crews will continue taking the SkyCenter One walls into the air as work ramps up on the a on the six-story precast parking garage. A new crawler crane arrived in early February and is already lifting the garage’s columns and precast panels into place, beginning with the west end of the garage.
