Frontier Airlines Expands Nonstop Tampa Seasonal Service

August 8, 2011

TAMPA – Today, Frontier Airlines announced that it is expanding its nonstop service to Tampa, adding three destinations in the Midwest. Beginning in December, Frontier will fly nonstop to Des Moines, Milwaukee and Omaha throughout the busy holiday travel season and winter months.

“This is great news for our northern visitors looking to escape the cold weather and enjoy some Florida sunshine,” said Joe Lopano, CEO Tampa International Airport. “This is another example of our airline partners recognizing the west coast of Florida as a year-round prime vacation destination.”

The Tampa-Des Moines service and the Tampa-Omaha service will be twice weekly on Thursday and Sunday. The Tampa-Milwaukee service will be three times weekly on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. In addition, Frontier will continue operating its daily nonstop service to Denver.

The service will be provided on 99-seat Embraer 190 aircraft, which feature no middle seats and available “stretch” seating with up to five additional inches of legroom on every flight. Frontier Airlines is a low fare carrier, recognized for its customer service and voted by readers of Condé Nast Magazine as one of the “Top 10 Domestic Airlines”. Frontier Airlines first arrived in Tampa in June 2002.

Frontier Airlines kicks off the new service with “Early Bird Specials” on its fares through August 22nd. Travelers can view details on schedule times and fares at www.FrontierAirlines.com.
