Getting to Key West Just Got Faster on AirTran

March 10, 2011

TAMPA – Today, Tampa International Airport and AirTran Airways are celebrating Tampa’s inaugural nonstop jet flight to Key West. Just in time for spring break and summer vacation, AirTran has added new daily Key West service from Tampa, in addition to the recently announced nonstop service to San Juan, which begins April 5, 2011.

Kicking off the Key West inaugural flight and the gate festivities are two special guests from MacDill Air Force Base along with the 130+ passengers. AirTran reserved and provided two seats for these men to show support for military personnel serving our country.

“AirTran is a great partner and they understand our Tampa Bay community,” stated Joe Lopano, CEO, Tampa International Airport. “Along with the Airport, AirTran understands the needs of our customers.”

Additionally, on board passengers will receive personalized AirTran Airways Inaugural Flight certificates signed by the pilot and flight crew as they exit the plane in Key West.
