Heads up: Speed limit at TPA cut by 5 mph during busy construction period

Coming to Tampa International Airport in the next couple of years?

Slow down!

Tampa International Airport has reduced the speed limit on the George J. Bean Parkway by 5 miles per hour due to extensive construction on the roadway.

The widening of the Parkway, which serves as the Airport’s main entrance and exit roadway, is a key element of Master Plan Phase 2. TPA’s Master Plan expansion will ultimately allow the Airport to serve 34 million annual passengers.

Over roughly the next two years, passengers and guests should expect to see periodic closures, sudden lane changes, and traffic cones and barriers.

Guests are reminded to slow down, observe all posted speed limits and construction signs, and be mindful of construction in the area. Traffic fines in construction zones are doubled.
