Lynx Air takes off from TPA with inaugural roundtrip to Toronto
The Canadian airline offers affordable prices and new aircraft for the nonstop flight to a market vital to Tampa Bay.
Tampa International Airport added a new, ultra-low-cost option to Canadian destinations Friday with Lynx Air’s inaugural flight to Toronto.
The airline and the TPA team celebrated the occasion Friday with giveaways and cake at the gate for both arriving and departing passengers.
Lynx is a new partner airline for TPA and will fly the nonstop route to Toronto roundtrip four times per week. The airline also is launching a nonstop flight to Montreal four times per week beginning Nov. 17. Both flights will operate on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday each week.
“Tampa International Airport warmly welcomes our newest airline partner Lynx Air as it offers a low-cost option to Toronto, a very important market for us,” Airport CEO Joe Lopano said. “Tampa Bay has strong ties with our Canadian friends, who are a vital part of tourism, homeownership and business investment across our region, and we appreciate the broader choices in air travel that Lynx will provide.”
Lynx aims to make flying a more affordable and customer-focused experience. It is now the fourth airline flying nonstop between TPA and Toronto, adding a low-priced option and making the roundtrip with their fleet of brand-new and more fuel-efficient Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.
To kick off the route, Lynx is offering fares starting at $58 for a limited time.
The airline offers travelers a no frills, no fuss flying experience while making safety and comfort a priority. Passengers are free to bring their own food and beverages, with add-ons and complimentary water service available on the flight.
