New cell lot will feature EV charging stations, pet relief, better info board

Cell lot capacity will be temporarily reduced due to construction

Tampa International Airport’s Cell Phone Waiting Lot is getting an upgrade.

As part of the development of TPA’s 35-acre SkyCenter site, the cell phone lot will be reconfigured with all new amenities, including new restrooms, vending machines, a new flight arrivals and departures board and a pet relief area – a welcome upgrade for guests waiting to meet their guest.

The new cell lot will also continue to have free WiFi as well as electric vehicle charging stations. It will continue to have approximately the same number of parking spaces as before.

In the meantime, beginning Friday, April 12, the lot will be temporarily reconfigured to allow for construction to begin on the new cell lot. The temporary cell layout will have slightly fewer parking spots, but guests aren’t expected to see significant impacts.

The new cell phone waiting lot will be fully open in November 2019.
