A major celebration of transportation returns to eastern Hillsborough County when Plant City Airport hosts the 11th annual Planes, Trains & Automobiles event on Saturday, April 22.

The family-friendly spectacle will feature both an aircraft show and a car show, plus model train layouts, radio-controlled planes, drone demos and first-responder vehicles. The Tampa Bay Aviation Association is organizing the event, which is presented by Tampa International Airport.

Children will have plenty of activities to keep them busy, including bounce houses, flight simulators, educational exhibits, some scout merit badge opportunities and a pinewood derby.

This is the first Planes, Trains & Automobiles the Association has put on since 2020; the event was paused due to the pandemic and is back this year.

The goal is to provide a fun and affordable event filled with chances to discover how the aviation industry and other modes of transportation work.

“We’re proud to be hosting the return of this marvelous community event at Plant City Airport. Families will again be able to enjoy a wide range of activities and displays that are sure to spark the imaginations of young people across the entire region," said Brett Fay, Director of General Aviation for the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority.

TBAA will also take donations to fund aviation scholarship programs for flight and mechanic training, as well as career education for local youth.

Planes, Trains & Automobiles will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Plant City Airport. Tickets are $10 at the gate, but can be purchased for $7.25 in advance. Children 10 and younger are free. Click here to buy tickets.

Parking is free, with limited VIP parking available to buy online for $20.
