Reminder: The Airport is not a storm shelter

Hurricane-IAN-FB

With Tampa International Airport suspending operations ahead of Hurricane Ian this week, it’s important to note that the Main Terminal and all parking garages, will be closed to all visitors starting at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, September 27. TPA does not have the resources to shelter people or vehicles during a storm.

Information about emergency shelters, evacuation zones, storm preparation and more is available from the Hillsborough County government at hcflgov.net/staysafe. TPA Police Officers and Guest Services Representatives will be on-site helping direct travelers who need shelter to the nearest open locations as well as other county resources.
