SkyCenter One now 50 percent leased

Space at SkyCenter One, the new nine-story office located at Tampa International Airport, is starting to fill up quickly.

Last month, the building added its fourth tenant – Flad Architects – bringing the total leased space up to about 134,089 square feet. Or roughly half of the available space in the entire building.

“This is an exciting milestone for us and we’re extremely pleased to have more than half the building leased already,” said John Carey, Executive Vice President with VanTrust, which developed the building. “We think that hitting this threshold, especially in today’s market, speaks to how unique this building is in Tampa. Nowhere else can you get this access to TPA, this connectivity to Tampa Bay or these amenities. It’s truly second-to-none.”

The building’s other tenants include contractor J.E. Dunn, commercial real estate company Avison Young and the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority. HCAA, which operates Tampa International Airport, will lease three of the building’s nine floors.

VanTrust broke ground on SkyCenter One in November 2019 and the building hit substantial completion in June 2021. The 272,000 square-foot building includes a conference center, café and world-class amenities. The building’s fitness center features three dozen pieces of equipment, supped up locker rooms and towel service.

The building is connected to the SkyConnect train station via elevated walkway, providing easy access to TPA’s Main Terminal. In addition, the building also offers access to a 1.5-mile multipurpose trail. The nearby parking garage includes more than 50 electric vehicle charging stations.
