Southwest Airlines Announces New Service from Tampa to Memphis

TAMPA - For the first time in two years, Southwest Airlines is adding a destination to its list of offerings from Tampa International Airport: Memphis. 

The daily nonstop service begins Nov. 3. To celebrate the launch of the flights, Southwest is offering introductory fares as low as $79 each way for flights booked today through Monday, May 13.

Southwest is Tampa International Airport’s largest carrier, serving 40 percent of the airport’s nonstop destinations. 

“We’re delighted Southwest is expanding at Tampa International Airport. The airline is a critical partner in our efforts to provide a huge menu of travel options for the Tampa Bay region,” said Chris Minner, TPA’s Vice President of Marketing.Southwest currently flies nonstop to 36 cities from TPA. 

The announcement of the Tampa/Memphis service is part of a larger roll-out by Southwest Airlines of new service from Memphis; Pensacola, Fla.; and Richmond, Va.
