Southwest Airlines Announces Nonstop Service Between Dallas and Tampa Beginning in October

February 3, 2014

TAMPA - Southwest Airlines is including Tampa in its first round of nonstop service destinations added from Dallas, the airline announced on February 3rd. The flights between Dallas Love Field to Tampa International Airport will begin on November 2nd.

“This move is evidence of Southwest’s faith in the Tampa Bay market. Tampa International Airport works hard to develop its strong relationship with Southwest Airlines,” said Vice President of Marketing Chris Minner. “With Southwest as our largest carrier, the additional travel options to our ninth largest market is an important regional development for our tourism partners and business travelers who take advantage of the airlines’ frequent flyer program.”

Southwest Airline began service to Memphis in November of 2013. It was the first new route that the airline added to the Tampa schedule in two years.

In May, the airline will announce the specific flight schedules and fares for the new flights via southwest.com.
