Staci Lyons is going to Frankfurt!
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. For Staci Lyons of Plant City, it’s worth about 9,600 miles. That's the distance Staci will travel between Tampa and Frankfurt, Germany as the winner of Tampa International Airport’s Picture Yourself in Frankfurt selfie contest. Her prize is two tickets on Lufthansa to travel roundtrip between Tampa and Frankfurt.
Staci, who’s never been on a plane before, said that she and fiancé Michael will use the tickets for a dream honeymoon. They plan on marrying in 2016, but said that they may move up the date for the trip.
“I’ve never even been on Twitter before, but I was at the airport with a friend and she said I should enter. I took the picture and she helped me set up an account to post it. I just can’t believe this,” said Lyons after TPA contacted her by phone. “I’m so excited I can’t even sit down!”
The Airport accepted entries on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to promote Lufthansa’s new nonstop service between Tampa and Frankfurt beginning September 25.
