New service to Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and Atlantic City (ACY) both took off July 1, followed by Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic (PUJ) on July 2, and Columbus, Ohio (CMH), on July 3. If you're thinking about your next getaway, here are a few fun things to do in each destination.

Service to Dallas/McKinney is scheduled to begin November 19, followed by flights to Charlotte/Concord launching November 20.

The inaugural flight marks the first time in 20 years that an airline has offered jet service from America's Favorite Airport to Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS). The route is available four times per week, giving travelers a convenient way to reach the islands.

TPA hosted a lively gate party to celebrate the milestone, greeting passengers with the bright sounds of a steel drum player, colorful cupcakes, and plenty of giveaways. Airport and Bahamian tourism leaders joined travelers to mark the occasion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony before boarding began. 

“This route is special for me,” TPA Chief Operating Officer John Tiliacos said. “As a Bahamian born and raised in Nassau, I’m so proud to see this service between Tampa and Nassau.”

By the end of 2026, Breeze will serve 37 destinations from TPA, including six in the Caribbean and Latin America. Later this year, the airline plans to launch TPA’s first-ever nonstop flights to San José, Costa Rica, along with new service to Cancun, Mexico; Montego Bay, Jamaica; Nassau, Bahamas; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

Breeze Airways launched its very first flight from TPA to Charleston, S.C., on May 27, 2021, kicking off founder and CEO David Neeleman's vision of an airline that would provide quality customer service with low costs. Both routes to St. Thomas and Cancun are scheduled to operate twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Service to St. Thomas is scheduled to begin on December 16 followed by Cancun on December 19.

This will be the first nonstop jet service offered from America's Favorite Airport to the capital of the Bahamas in 20 years.

Flights to Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS) are scheduled to begin June 11, 2026, and will operate on Thursdays and Sundays. This destination will become the 29th destination Breeze currently offers from TPA. With the return of Nassau to the route map, TPA now offers nonstop flights to 22 international destinations across Canada, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean. 

Travelers may recall that Breeze was scheduled to commence its first international nonstop flights from TPA to Montego Bay, Jamaica, on February 11. However, after Hurricane Melissa made landfall in Jamaica in late 2025, Breeze delayed launching its flights to the island while the country recovers. With that delay, this new route to Nassau will become the first international destination offered by the airline from America's Favorite Airport.

The airline began flying between TPA and Grand Cayman's Owen Roberts International Airport (GCM) in 1985. Since then, Cayman Airways has become TPA's longest-serving airline to the Caribbean region, which Airport CEO Michael Stephens said was a prime example of the close bonds the Tampa Bay region and the Cayman Islands have created over the last four decades.

“For the past 40 years, TPA and Cayman Airways have been forging a tremendous relationship that connects both people and cultures, and strengthens year after year,” Stephens said. “This relationship illustrates just how important working together has been, not only to our airport, but to the entire Tampa Bay community.”

TPA marked the anniversary with Caymanian music, traditional treats, giveaways and more in its Main Terminal and at Airside F. The entertainment included live performances by Stuart Wilson, a native Caymanian who traveled to Tampa for the event.

Also joining the festivities were members of the Caymanian Parliament, including Deputy Premier and Minister for Tourism and Trade Development Gary Rutty, who spoke at Monday's departing flight about the ties between the islands and the city of Tampa. 

"For many Caymanians, including myself, Tampa has always been more than a destination – it is a familiar place where Caymanians have traveled for education, medical care, shopping and weekend getaways," Rutty said. “For our Floridian friends, the Cayman Islands have become a favorite home away from home. Over the years, thousands of visitors from Tampa have discovered the beauty of our beaches, the warmth of our people and the unmistakable feeling of Cayman kindness found only within our shores.”

Capt. Kris Bergstrom, the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors for Cayman Airways, said he anticipated great things from the continued success of the Tampa to Grand Cayman route.

Nonstop flights are available five days a week, making Tampa Bay the destination with the second-highest number of flights among U.S. cities for Cayman Airways. About 17,000 visitors from the Tampa Bay catchment area visited the Cayman Islands over the past year.

This route will be the first international destination offered by the airline at America's Favorite Airport. 

The seasonal route to Sangster International Airport (MBJ) is scheduled to launch Feb. 11, 2026. Although the route is still pending final government approvals, it is scheduled to operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays. This destination will become the 30th destination Breeze currently offers from TPA.

The flights are scheduled to depart Vancouver on Tuesdays and Saturdays, leaving at 1:30 p.m. and arriving at Tampa International Airport at 10:12 p.m. For passengers departing from TPA, the flights will leave at 8:20 a.m. and land in Vancouver at 11:23 a.m. on Wednesdays and Sundays.

With the addition of this route to Vancouver, Air Canada will grow its list of nonstop destinations at TPA from four to five. The airline currently offers year-round service to Montreal and Toronto and seasonal service to Halifax and Ottawa. 

This route will be operated aboard a Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. 

Air Canada is Canada's largest airline and a founding member of the Star Alliance network. For passengers looking to travel beyond Vancouver, the airport offers convenient roundtrip links to Air Canada's Asian network, with connections to cities like Osaka, Tokyo and Seoul.

On November 22, Porter is offering up to 4x weekly service from TPA to Ottawa (YOW), the capital of Canada. Then on December 5, Porter will commence 3x weekly flights from TPA to Nova Scotia's scenic Halifax (YHZ).

These are new routes from the Canadian carrier, which began operating at TPA last year with daily seasonal nonstop flights to Toronto. Porter brought back the route from TPA to Toronto on October 27, but this year they will double their service to twice-daily flights to YYZ starting December 13.

The airline will operate each of these routes with a 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. One of the bonuses for travelers flying with Porter aboard this aircraft is the seat configuration: each row features a two-by-two arrangement, meaning no passenger will sit in a middle seat. In addition, all flights aboard Porter include free Wi-Fi and complimentary beer, wine and premium snacks.

Delta already confirmed that the seasonal daily route – which launched Oct. 26 and was originally scheduled to end on March 29, 2025 – was extended to operate 4 times per week between through May 2025. Now the airline has gone even further, offering this route  through the popular summer season with nonstop service 4 times per week into October 2025.  

Beginning in April, flights between TPA and AMS will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. 

The extension is a big win for the Tampa Bay region, opening the door to travelers looking to make summer vacations plans in Europe or beyond and emphasizing the route's early favorable performance. 

This nonstop route, which is back after a five-year hiatus, provides access to a pivotal European hub that is home to KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Delta's trans-Atlantic partner and member of the SkyTeam alliance. With one stop at AMS, more than 100 destinations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India are now within easy reach for travelers from TPA. 

Delta will continue operating this route aboard an Airbus A330-300 aircraft, which can carry 282 passengers. The aircraft features 34 lie-flat seats in its Delta One cabin, 21 Premium Select seats and 2-4-2 seating in the Comfort+ and Economy sections. 

Flights are currently scheduled to arrive in Tampa during late afternoon and depart in the evening, allowing for an arrival in the Netherlands by the next morning.

Flights will operate once per week on Saturdays through Oct. 25, 2025. 

This route will open the door for travelers to easily visit the stunning natural beauty of Vancouver or catch a cruise from Vancouver's popular cruise port. Nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the North Shore Mountains, those looking for a gateway to the mountains are also in luck. 

The city is known for its diverse cultural scene, offering a rich blend of arts, music and cuisine. Vancouver also is recognized as a major film and television production hub, often referred to as "Hollywood North" due to its many studios and filming locations.

"We're thrilled to support WestJet’s continued growth at TPA with the Airport’s first-ever nonstop flights to Vancouver,” TPA CEO Joe Lopano said. “Our strong partnership with WestJet helps connect the Tampa Bay area to appealing international destinations, this time to one of Canada’s largest metropolitan areas, which we know will be popular with both business and leisure travelers.”

WestJet has been operating at TPA since 2004. The airline will fly this new route to Vancouver with a Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. 

In addition to the route to Vancouver, WestJet also announced that they will extend their nonstop service to Calgary from seasonal to year-round. Beginning May 2, flights from TPA to Calgary (YYC) will operate every Friday.

Tampa International Airport and Delta Air Lines on Saturday celebrated the return of nonstop daily service from Tampa Bay to Amsterdam with a launch party – and a special announcement that the seasonal route is being extended for two more months.

The relaunch of the route to Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport was initially announced with much fanfare as winter seasonal service from Oct. 26 to March 29, 2025. The airline previously flew the nonstop route from TPA to AMS in 2019, and travelers have long awaited its return.

Delta has now confirmed that they are extending the service from TPA through May 2025, which coincides with the region’s famed tulip season.

The news comes just as first arrival was greeted Saturday afternoon with a traditional water cannon salute while it taxied to its gate at Airside F. Arriving passengers were treated to a pirate’s welcome to Tampa Bay and gift bags.

The first departure to Amsterdam left Airside E later that night, with a cake, giveaways and music from a DJ at the departing gate.

The route to Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport gives Tampa Bay’s travelers access to a major European hub. The airport is home to KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Delta’s trans-Atlantic partner and a member of the SkyTeam alliance.

Delta will fly the route aboard a 282-seat Airbus A330-300, featuring 34 lie-flat seats in its premium Delta One seating, 21 Delta Premium Select seats with wider cushions and more legroom, and 2-4-2 seating in the Comfort+ and Economy sections.

Inbound flights are scheduled to arrive in Tampa during the afternoons and depart for Amsterdam three hours later for a morning arrival in the Netherlands.

Tampa International Airport travelers will soon be able to enjoy more nonstop options after a flurry of new route announcements by several of our airline partners.

Delta Air Lines will begin nonstop flights to Austin, Texas, starting June 8, 2025. The once-daily route will be aboard an Airbus A220-300, featuring 3+2 seating. That means fewer middle seats on the way to the Texas capital!

Next is an all-new destination for TPA, with Breeze Airways announcing nonstops to Erie, PA. Flights will begin Jan. 8, 2025, aboard one of Breeze’s new fleet of Airbus A220-300 aircraft. The route will fly Wednesdays and Saturdays.

And Frontier Airlines announced a quintet of new routes from TPA: Daily flights to Boston, Washington Dulles and Chicago O’Hare start Dec. 17, while Portland, ME, will get service three times per week starting Dec. 18 and Burlington, VT, will get three flights a week beginning Dec. 20.
