Tampa Airport Launches Fourth Weekly Flight to Cuba – New Service to Holguin Starts Tuesday

November 21, 2011

TAMPA – ABC Charters, serving Havana from Tampa since September 10th of this year, now adds a second city to their schedule. Beginning Tuesday, November 22nd, ABC Charters will fly nonstop from Tampa to Holguin. Tampa is only the second city in the United States to serve multiple destinations in Cuba.

Holguin is located on the east side of the country and is the capital city of Holguin Province. To further assist its customers, ABC Charters is also providing free bus transportation to Bayamo and Las Tunas, one hour drive away from the airport in Holguin.

Like the Havana service, the flights will be operated by American Airlines using 757 aircraft. The scheduled departure time is 4 p.m.

To celebrate this milestone in international air service development, Tampa International Airport will host a gate party for the inaugural flight travelers.

Media interested in attending the gate party, should convene at the shuttle entrance to Airside F at 2:30 p.m. for escort to the gate area.

Since this photo opportunity falls during the busy holiday travel season, videotaping at the screening checkpoint for holiday travel stories will be permitted.
