TPA in the Community: Honoring a civil rights legend by helping, listening and celebrating on MLK Day

On Monday, Jan. 17, several employees of the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority – the organization that operates and manages TPA – took part in three different events in honor of MLK Day, the first time resuming the in-person events since the beginning of the pandemic.

The day kicked off with a Tampa Organization of Black Affairs (TOBA) MLK Breakfast, which TPA both sponsored and participated in toDay of service_Kamprath (2) remember and honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy.

Then, members of the Authority's Legal, Risk Management, Procurement and Government Affairs teams helped serve meals to those less fortunate at Tampa's Trinity Cafe.

Finally, TPA represented the airport, celebrated the day and tossed thousands of strings beads along east Tampa's MLK Day Parade route.
