TPA launches first ever Voice of TPA contest

Winner will voice TPA’s shuttle messages the entire month of July

It’s the voice that wishes you safe travels before your flight and welcomes you back home after vacation. It’s always there - ready to greet passengers every day, no matter where they’re flying or why. The honor of voicing TPA’s shuttle messages has been traditionally passed from Tampa mayor to Tampa mayor.

Until now.

To raise money for United Way Suncoast, TPA has launched a contest giving the lucky winner a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to greet passengers for the entire month of July as the voice of the Airport shuttles.

Here’s how it works:

A $5 donation will get you entered in the contest, but the more you donate, the better your odds. All proceeds will go to United Way Suncoast, supporting its mission of providing food, financial assistance and educational support to those in need in the Tampa Bay community. The contest runs from Monday, May 17 through Monday, June 14 at 2 p.m., when the winner will be announced on social media.

To enter the contest, visit www.VoiceofTPA.com.

“For years, United Way Suncoast has made it their mission to lift countless families in our region," said Tampa International Airport CEO Joe Lopano. “We’re grateful to have a long-standing partnership with this organization and are thrilled to be able to support them with the help of our community.”

TPA’s relationship with United Way Suncoast dates back more than three decades. Hillsborough County Aviation Authority employees raise funds for UWS as part of an annual campaign. The Airport has also hosted eight 5K on the Runway events benefitting the non-profit organization. Since 2012, HCAA has donated just under $1 million to UWS, placing TPA among the most generous workplaces in Tampa Bay.

"At United Way Suncoast, we always lend our voice to efforts that lift up the community," said UWS CEO Jessica Murroff. "We're very excited that Tampa International Airport is giving our community the opportunity to share their voice and support in a unique way.”

Participants must be 18 years of age to enter the contest and the shuttle recording must be done on-site at Tampa International Airport. Other terms and conditions apply.
