Breeze starting TPA’s first-ever nonstop service to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport

Breeze Airways announced on Tuesday that it is adding a new, nonstop route from TPA to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport this fall.

Service begins Oct. 18, with flights on Mondays and Fridays.

It will be the first time TPA has had a nonstop flight to the region known as the Wyoming Valley, which has a metropolitan area of more than half a million people. “We're excited to support Breeze Airways’ ongoing success with TPA's first-ever nonstop route to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport,” Airport CEO Joe Lopano said. “Our airline partners at Breeze continue to connect Tampa Bay to great U.S. destinations, this time to the heart of Northeastern Pennsylvania and the Poconos.”

The route will use Breeze’s Airbus A220-300 aircraft, which feature the airline’s Nice, Nicer and Nicest fare bundles that range from economy (Nice); premium economy with an extra legroom seat and a checked and carry-on bag (Nicer); and on Nicest, a reclining Breeze Ascent seat, two checked bags, priority boarding and complimentary snacks and beverages, including alcohol.

“Breeze’s focus is on connecting underserved markets, adding nonstops between cities with limited or no existing service,” said Breeze Airways’ President Tom Doxey. “All of these routes and cities are a perfect example of how Breeze’s premium leisure low-cost product has found its footing with great routes and added affordability and convenience.
