Remote bag check service to expand after another successful year

Tampa International Airport’s innovative remote bag check and boarding pass facility had a banner year in 2019 – and this year promises to be even better with the addition of a new airline served and additional kiosks.

In 2019, the Airport processed approximately 375,000 bags from the Rental Car Center location, shattering the previous year’s total of 270,000 bags.

The service, which prints bag tags and boarding passes for TPA’s largest air carriers, including American, Delta, United, Southwest and Spirit, will expand later this month to include JetBlue. The Airport is also adding three new kiosks, bringing the total to 12, to better serve TPA’s guests.

Remote bag check allows passengers at the Rental Car Center to check their bags and get their boarding passes before they board the SkyConnect train and make their way to their gate, alleviating the stress of hauling luggage through the Airport and allowing passengers to skip the ticket counters at the Main Terminal.
