TPA to host Airport-wide hiring day as it looks to fill more than 600 positions

Tampa International Airport and its tenant partners are looking to fill more than 600 openings in the airport's second-largest and broadest hiring day yet, to be held at TPA on Nov. 9.

At least 25 companies will interview candidates and offer jobs on the spot to help TPA meet growing demand as up to 80,000 daily passengers are expected to return to the skies in the coming months. The employers will be filling a wide variety of year-round jobs that include full- and part-time positions with airlines, shops, restaurants, rental car companies, ground handling services and more. Increasing staffing levels will also help airport business partners continue to expand hours of operation.

The hiring day will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at TPA's Event Space (between Airsides E and F) on Level 3 of the Main Terminal. In-person attendance is required and parking will be validated. Hiring managers suggest bringing multiple copies of your resume along with your ID.

TPA has seen passengers steadily return since the COVID-19 pandemic first took hold in early 2020, bringing worldwide air travel to a virtual standstill. The airport served 15,405,053 passengers during Fiscal Year 2021, which ran from Oct. 1, 2020, through Sept. 30, 2021. In FY22, TPA expects to serve 20.6 million passengers which is only 7 percent below pre-COVID traffic numbers. 

Available positions feature a range of skills and management levels. The Hillsborough County Aviation Authority, which operates and manages TPA, is also looking to fill more than 30 positions, including maintenance, traffic and others.

TPA business partners made more than 400 job offers at the last airport-wide hiring event in late August.
